We’ve raved about Suiskin products before, and we’re glad to introduce two new products from Suiskin.

The first is Suiskin Mineral Essence Blemish BB Powder. The powder comes in two colors – 21 and 23 and contains pearl powder, pearl powder, sangosen, and hydrogenated lecithin.

The powder is thinner and lighter than normal powder which helps cover skin blemishes, wrinkles, fine line and pores. It also helps your make-up stay longer on your skin and has excellent oil control properties.

Reader’s Review : Suiskin’s Panacea Program February 17, 2011

Here is my review for the mini suiskin kit I won from the facebook contest.

As soon as I arrived home from vacation a bunch of mail was waiting for me but the first thing I opened was the package from the contest. I had received 4 packets of the moisturizer (Biological Fermento Moisture) and 5ml of the Fermented Essence (Biological Fermento Panacea – Facial Treatment Essence).

So, going back to the blog and researching more about these I was looking forward to testing them out. My skin is very sensitive and by consequence it dries out easily.

The Essence is very liquidy and indeed very milky. The moisturizer is just like a cream but not oily at all.

The essence has a minty smell, that surprised me greatly. I’m sensitive to smells but this didn’t irritate me at all. And the moisturizer has a herbal smell. Nothing too strong.

The essence and the cream soaked into my skin pretty quickly. I really liked how it felt. My skin looked glowy and luminous. And the moisturizer, although at first a bit sticky, leaves the skin so smooth after! I even skipped BB cream while using it! I love it.

They last a long time, if it were sold somewhere besides Gmarket I would purchase the full size. And I definitely recommend it.

Thank you, hope in a blog!

Nate

Suiskin Herbalium Deep Peel and Herbalium Antioxidant Mask Review January 29, 2011

Introduction

The Suiskin Herbalium Antioxidant Dual Masks are their best seller.

It is a 4 week home treatment program and each treatment consists of 2 masks.

  • Herbalium Deep Peel Mask

Specific Treatment

Epidermal and dermal cellular renewal

Smoothness, intense, radiance, anti aging

Herbalium Deep Peel exerts potent influence against skin aging. This peel mask helps to maintain the cellular energy and prevents DNA damage. Both are important factors in counteracting the process of accelerated aging, often induced by UV light.

  • Herbalium Antioxydant Mask

Skin Aging is a physiological phenomenon which, according to the most recent research into the matter, begins and is accelerated by the presence of free radicals such as Superoxide O2; Hydroxide HO . These free radicals are extremely harmful for biological tissues. This process is further enhanced by the external environment such as lack of rest, tobacco smoke, pollution, stress and etc.

Suiskin has created a Herbalium Antioxidant mask which has anti oxidant functions to give a natural healthy complexion that is usually lost as time goes by.

Suiskin Potency Pore Eraser January 27, 2011

Filed under: Suiskin — Hope In A Blog @ 8:47 pm
Tags: ,

Introduction

Potency Pore Eraser is quite a new product from Korean-Swiss brand Suiskin.

It is a white head, black head and pore intensive care treatment for the nose. It helps shrink the pores of the nose, and also extract white and black heads in the nose.

For maximum results, use in conjunction with Suiskin’s Pore Minimizer Spot.

Directions

1. After taking your shower, straight away soak the solution on the cotton pads provided.

2. Lay the soaked cotton pad on your nose and leave it for about 15 minutes.

3. Remove cotton pad from nose and use one of the plastic extractors provided and press them around your nose.

4. Optional : Follow up with Suiskin Pore Minimizer Spot.

Packaging

Standard packaging for Suiskin products.

Comes in a dropper plastic bottle containing 50ml of solution.

The packaging of the bottle reminds me of It’s Skin V10 Range’s packaging.

Included together with the box are cotton pads that are shaped for the nose, and also plastic extractors.

I found the plastic extractors very filmy and weak, making extraction very hard as it was not easy to manipulate with.

Please DO NOT throw away the sticks, they are not gifts for you to dig your ears! Open-mouthed smile

Texture

The texture of the product is almost like a serum but it is more diluted.

Ingredients

1.  Soleirolia soleirolii Extract

Also known as Angel/Baby’s Tears. Funny that there is no information regarding this plant’s benefit in skincare products.

2. Melissa Officinalis Leaf Extract

Known as lemon balm leaf. The crushed leaves, when rubbed on the skin, are used as a repellant for mosquitos. Its antibacterial properties have also been demonstrated scientifically, although they are markedly weaker than those from a number of other plants studied.

Lemon balm contains eugenol, which kills bacteria and has been shown to calm muscles and numb tissues. It also containstannins that contribute to its antiviral effects, as well as terpenes that add to its soothing effects.

Traditionally this herb has been used as a sedative, and as an antispasmodic.

3. Origanum Majorana Leaf Extract

Natural disinfectant, antifungal, antibacterial, anti bruising properties.

4. Lactic Acid

Lactic acid is a widely used alpha hydroxy acid derived from sour milk that is far from a new phenomenon. In fact, Cleopatra is said to have bathed in soured milk to pamper her skin. Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) are naturally derived ingredients used in a variety of skin care products and cosmetics. Glycolic acid, malic acid, tartaric acid and citric acid are other popular types of AHAs.

Lactic acid accelerates the sloughing process. As we age, our skin’s ability to shed dead skin cells is diminished, increasing the need for specialized exfoliating products. Although less powerful than retinol-the popular Vitamin A molecule used in skin care treatments and peels-lactic acid has been heralded by many dermatologists and embraced by the cosmetics industry. Lactic acid has shown to be a superior exfoliant-peeling away the outer layers of dead skin, and revealing a healthier glow. This peeling effect causes damaged layers of skin to shed more rapidly, improving the texture of the skin- making it softer and smoother while preventing build-up of skin cells in the pores.

Keeping skin at acid pH level, lactic acid works to limit the growth of bacteria and spur the development of new cells. It works well on conditions as diverse as acne and wrinkles, as its exfoliant properties serve to eliminate dead cells regardless of their cause. Latic acid is also useful on the body as well as the face, softening tough areas such as elbows and heels.

Sunscreens and makeup will last longer with the regular use of latic acid, as it enhances the absorption of cosmetics, moisturizers and other skincare products. The molecules in lactic acid are larger than in the equally popular glycolic acid and although it doesn’t penetrate into skin as deeply, its gentle exfoliating action makes it a perfect choice for regular use or those with extra sensitive skin.

Review

This product is an alternative to nose strips ( which are not good for your nose BTW ).

It softens the epidermis and opens up the pores while exfoliating it to make extraction easier.

It was rather hard to extract with the filmy plastic stick that was provided with the product as the stick kept on bending here and there.

This product is also not suitable for those who are too lazy, or those who are scared of pain. As everything here is DIY, it can be rather troublesome.

Be cautious when pressing because it might cause broken veins. Those of you who have this problem should stay away from this product because you never know what might happen and may aggravate the situation.

This product can be quite rough for the skin and may do more harm than benefits if not handled properly.

There has been some remarkable before-after photos online :

However, it wasn’t that drastic when we used it ( maybe because we don’t have much of a problem on the pores of our nose). Of course there was an improvement in the texture of our nose before and after. As for the pores, we did see a slight improvement.

poi

Conclusion

This product really depends on whether you trust yourself. Sure, it’s a great DIY product to clear the white/blackheads without stripping off your skin. But if done the wrong way, it might cause some broken veins and cause your nose to look like Rudolph.

Then again, we know how most girls are afraid of pain, that they probably stop at the first extraction. Haha, then you might as well leave it to your beauty consultant to do the extraction for you.

Our advice : Be gentle when using it and know when to stop.

Overall, we’d recommend this product as it is quite an easy DIY product which helps clear the dirt in your nose once in a while ( our advice : once a month ). Those who are looking for solutions to big nose pores can give this a try as our pores did look smaller after using this.

And for those who are lazy and are not bothered to go through the hassle and pain , stick to your nose strips or just gentle scrub exfoliation.

Or else, there’s always a visit to the facial shop and help your country’s economy. Open-mouthed smile

The bottle can last quite long, probably 8 months if used once every 3-4 weeks.

Suiskin highly recommends to apply the Pore Minimizer Spot as post-treatment. Details of the Pore Minimizer can be found : here

SUISKIN_20101122181114

Introduction

We crowned Suiskin’s Hydro Marine Aqua Drop Mask as the winner of Best Mask 2010, so now comes the review. First off a little introduction on the company called Suiskin.

Suiskin is a joint-project between the La Clinique de Switzerland, Zurich and Korea’s Suiskin. Combining Korea’s top nano-technology application on skincare products  ( Korea’s nanotechnology is very reputable – and almost all korean skincare are nano-technologized ) with La Clinique de Switzerland’s formulation, science , and the natural resources of Switzerland, Suiskin was born. ( I’ll do a Brand Introduction segment on the company later..).

Artificial preservatives, emulsifiers, mineral oil, PEG, fragrances, skin irritants such as artificial coloring were excluded Suiskin’s products ingredients.

The Hydro Marine Aqua Drop Mask is a refreshing  and relaxing mask for the face and also can be used on the eye contour area. It is suitable for all skin types. It is non-comedogenic and dermatologically tested, therefore suitable for those with sensitive skin too.
