Check your sunscreen protection with BASF’s Sunscreen Simulator.
All you have to do is register an account, validate it through your e-mail, and enter the % of actives contained in your sunscreen.
Eventhough the BASF is an excellent simulator, but it doesn’t mean that it is 100% correct. A lot of other factors play a role like the other ingredients that are contained in the sunscreen, how they react with your skin, the sunscreen’s adhesion to the skin, etc.
For Zinc Oxide to appear, change the Filters for the region to ‘All Filters’. Zinc Oxide wouldn’t appear if the region is ‘Europe’ because ZnO isn’t generally approved in Europe!
Enter all the data. For example the report for OHUI Sunscience Luminous Whitening Sunblock that contains :
DIETHYLAMINO HYDROXYBENZOYL HEXYL BENZOATE 1%
ZINC OXIDE 12.3%
TITANIUM DIOXIDE 3.67%
Click on ‘Start Calculation’
The results will appear :
So how did the OHUI Luminous Sunscreen fare?
The sunblock claims to be SPF 45. PA+++
And on the results, the SPF calculated seems to be higher than the one claimed by OHUI, and has PA+++ exactly as indicated by OHUI !
